Feeding Britain:
Upcoming Feeding Britain Webinars
28th April 2026, 1-2pm – Policy Webinar: Housing – As part of our our Living Costs in Context series with Trussell, the Independent Food Aid Network (IFAN), the Food Foundation, Sustain, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, this session will focus on the pressures arising from housing – rising rents, shortfalls in housing support, insecure tenancies, and the growing number of people who cannot afford the essentials after covering housing costs. A small number of MPs will attend to listen to, and reflect on, the evidence shared. The Chair of the APPG on Ending the Need for Food Banks, Johanna Baxter MP, will chair the session. When you register, you will receive a link to four short questions to guide any additional evidence you would like to submit. Please see Andrew’s email dated 27th March for more details.
You can register to attend here and will receive joining details directly from Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/living-costs-in-context-housing-and-hardship-tickets-1985998040601?aff=oddtdtcreator
11th May, 10am – 12:30pm – Adverse Childhood Experiences, Trauma & Food Insecurity. This 2.5-hour interactive training for food project volunteers and staff explores how a trauma-informed lens can be practically applied to support people accessing Affordable Food Clubs. You can sign up to attend here. As the session will involve breakout groups, only part of the training will be recorded. If you would like to receive a recording of the taught session, you can also sign up to do so at the above link.
Feeding Britain Resources & Services
· Case Studies and Guides: We have created a number of guides, toolkits and case studies for organisations looking to develop a new programme of work or adapt a current programme. These include a guide on setting up an Affordable Food Club, a guide to developing a mobile Affordable Food Club, a guide to embedding Advice Workers in food projects, a guide to food suppliers used by the Feeding Britain network and case studies on financial sustainability for Affordable Food Clubs. You can find these guides in our Resources Library and at this link.
· Resource Library: A shared drive for the Feeding Britain network. It hosts the resources Feeding Britain develops (case studies, guides, webinars, toolkits) alongside those developed by our partners. We always welcome new resources for inclusion – useful documents include internal guides on food handling, reports/guides on setting up an Affordable Food Club, reports and learnings from trials of new ways of working, such as creating a shared food distribution system for the network. Please send any documents you would be happy to share to Anna at [email protected].
· Buddy Programme: A more formal introduction, with the intention to work together and share ideas over the longer term rather than pick up a single conversation. Buddies are welcome to meet as often as they would like – Feeding Britain will match you and then step away – but, as a guide, many of our buddies have a phone conversation once a month. If you’d like to be matched with a buddy, please fill in this form.
· Working Groups: We currently have five working groups, all of which meet quarterly for 1 hour on zoom. If you would like to be added to any of these groups, please email Anna at [email protected].
o Food Network Coordinators working group: For anyone coordinating local or regional food insecurity networks.
o Affordable Food Clubs working group: For anyone running an Affordable Food project such as a larder, pantry or social supermarket.
o Mobile Affordable Food Clubs working group: For anyone running these projects on a mobile or pop up basis.
o Pathways from Poverty working group: For anyone involved in co-locating advice services in community food projects to offer support on issues such as debt, housing, benefits and utilities.
o Rural Food Insecurity Network: For any Feeding Britain partners working on food insecurity in rural areas.
